Kirsten Spratt, född 1965 i Storbritannien, studerade flöjt för Trevor Wye och Clare Southworth vid Royal Northern College of Music på stipendium från Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music. Kirsten har framträtt i mästarklasser med Geoffery Gilbert, Julius Baker, Robert Dick, Peter Lukas-Graf och William Bennett. Av hennes priser märks särskilt the British Flute Society’s Young Artist Competition och det prestigefyllda “South East Arts Young Musician’s Platform” tillsammans med pianisten Elizabeth Mucha.
Efter sin examen blev Kirsten en av Storbritanniens ledande flöjtister inom nutida kammarmusik och virtuos flöjtrepertoar. När hon bodde i England frilansade Kirsten i Londons symfoniorkestrar och teatrar. Som ett resultat av framgångsrika inspelningar och radioprogram fick hon genomföra mästarklasser och hon har givit konserter i hela Europa, Australien, Filippinerna och i Amerika. Detta både som solist och i kammarmusik tillsammans med piano, harpa, gitarr samt altfiol och harpa. Hennes roll som Yamaha International Artist har givit henne möjlighet att ge lektioner på musikhögskolor i hela Storbritannien. Hon är högt värderad som lärare och har regelbundet elever ända ifrån Australien, Mexico men även från Europa. Utöver ovanstående är Kirsten en framstående ackompanjatör vilket hon fått visa både i USA, Europa och Londons West End med enmansföreställningen Clara. Sedan Kirsten flyttat till Sverige har hon kvalificerat sig som ’Colurstrings’-lärare och arbetar hängivet med utbildning.


Kirsten Spratt, born 1965 in the UK, studied at the Royal Northern College of Music as a result of winning an Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music Scholarship and studied the flute with Trevor Wye and Clare Southworth. She has performed in masterclasses given by Geoffrey Gilbert, Julius Baker, Robert Dick, Peter Lukas-Graf and William Bennett. Amongst her numerous prizes are the British Flute Society’s Young Artist Competition and the prestigious “South East Arts Young Musician’s Platform” with the pianist Elizabeth Mucha.
After graduating Kirsten was one of Britain’s leading performers of contemporary chamber music and the recognised virtuosic flute repertoire. Whilst living in England, Kirsten freelanced with the London orchestras and theatres. As a result of successful recordings and radio broadcasts, she has conducted masterclasses and performed extensively throughout Europe, Australia the Philippines and the Americas, both as soloist and in chamber music in conjunction with piano, harp, viola and harp and guitar. Her role as a Yamaha International Artist has led to giving classes at conservatoires throughout the UK. She is highly rated as a teacher of students and is regularly visited by students from as far afield as Australia, Mexico and France. In addition to all of the above she is an excellent accompanist which has taken her to the States and Europe and London’s West End with the one-woman show, Clara. Since moving to Sweden, Kirsten became a qualified ‘Colourstrings’ teacher and devotes much of her time to teaching.
